The full circular headlight render looks much better. I'm fine with the exterior being all cute with huge eyes and a gaping mouth, but that interior to me is a bit odd to me. I'm not sure I like the HVAC controls in a line, and I'm not sure what that lime green thing on the steering wheel is.

I'm ok with the angry eyes because they're big and round enough to be approchable, it's the downturned grill I don't like, Toyota hasn't had a good grill in decades though so I don't have my hopes up on that front.

Interior is extremely concept car, my money is all the flash will go away and it will look like every other econo-box Toyota/Scion interior with parts bin switches and knobs and a generic mostly neutral accent palette, probably going to be FR-S/Camry/RAV4 three knob HVAC controls mounted vertically instead of whatever is being shown now.

Hope the dashboard stays, that looks good with modern digital readouts (aww yeah get ready for our version of mullet jokes like the 80's GM guys in 15+ years) and all the appropriate gauges. Steering wheel looks almost identical to the 86's with the exception of that terrible little touchscreen thingy, doubt that will stay as it is, my hands are all over that area in my car.

I feel like the exterior could be less rounded, but I don't mind that it's cute at all. I like the concept headlights though, more than the rounded ones.

I am afraid that at the price point being knocked around the readouts will probably be the first thing to go. Could be wrong though as the new Darts are a low cost car with a very comprehensive digital gauge package.

Yeah... but at the same time, they don't have to ship it from Japan though.

There is that (although half the parts probably come from there) but they also have higher labour costs.

That's true. It's kinda funny to think that, it's cheap to ship it back and forth than building it at the one place.

I'd be willing to pay up to $20k if it had that dash! (provided it's a real fully functional dash and not just some dummy screen/faked display... LOL)

    I love it!
This is the first new and affordable car that I've been excited about and actually considered buying.
I'm in Japan so the possibility of me getting an S-FR is real.

I'm happy that this forum exists and that the users seem to be both enthusiastic and mature.

This is my first post. So, Hello !

Hello from Norway, and a warm welcome to the forum :-)

Yeah, everybody here seems to like the car. (After all, we all signed up for the S-FR forum...)

It's the affordable part that makes me believe in this car.
There must be a lot of people out there looking for something cheap but reliable and with a warranty, but also fun to drive.
    This could be it!

Woah, another person that likes this car and lives in my area.

We should start a local club for the SFR.
We can go visit my friend that works at Netz Okayama and place orders.

Also, I'll tell you what I feel about the design of this car.

A few months ago, I thought about buying a car from the 60's or 70's. I like the design of that era. Then I thought that I wish car companies would release cars that are modern copies of cars from that era. Something that looks like a 1960's sports car, but has a lot of modern equipment.

We have that here, and to me, that is a good thing.

These three cars have unique design points that are visible influences in the design of the SFR to me. Making it a genuine Toyota product as far as I am concerned.

A point very well made! This is exactly why I like the SFR.
