It sounds like the engine, in Europe/Asia at least, will be a 1.5L I4 with ~130hp. I'm betting that the US market would likely get something a little larger, 1.8-2.0L, like the ND did. Could quite possibly share an engine with the MX-5.

It would be kinda cool if it came with a boxer though, as more of a throwback to the Sports 800. I think they did a great job of styling it to look like a modern 800 though.

The FRS will always be my dream car, but being someone who can't afford one, this is perfect for me. If it's a 1.5L motor I just hope they will put something that is fun to rev, like the 4A-GE was. Being only 2160lbs is gonna make this thing a blast to drive.

By the time these come out you could pick up a used FR-S for much less. I'd imagine these will start around $20k, and there are already plenty of used FR-S's available for under $18k.

Nonetheless, these will be a great option for someone looking to spend less than an FR-S on a brand-new car.

Yeah call me crazy but I didn't want to buy used, because it won't benefit Toyota. I really wanted to buy new so my money could prove to the bean counters at Toyota that it's worth it to make cars like these to enthusiasts.

Fair enough. I like that take on it.

exactly my issue with buying used.

If I already had one I wouldn't mind buying a used one for Tracking, but as I can only afford a single car I want to buy New to support Toyota
